More early warnings for the RIJF. . . .

According to Pollstar, a few more artists have been signed for RIJF 2006. Here are the latest additions (see here for the previous warning):

  • Roomful Of Blues, June 1oth
  • Jane Bunnett & Spirits of Havana, June 14th

    • Based on the bookings so far, it looks like John Nugent is going to bring us a good eclectic mix of music.

    Some magnets I hadn’t seen on The Refigerator . . .

    I rediscovered the Rochester site The Refrigerator recently. Opening the door on this fridge is always a surprise, with lots of great stuff about Rochester, rants, raves on music, and lots of pictures. You can access most from the little refrigerator magnets on the door. However, the last time I visited I hadn’t noticed that it included a page on the Rochester International Jazz Fest. The page has an image of the Club Pass for each of the RIJF years, which links to photos and writing on different shows at that year’s festival. Check it out here.

    Cuong Vu Trio at the Bop Shop

    The Bop Shop has announced it is presenting trumpeter Cuong Vu with his Trio at the Bop Shop Atrium in the Village Gate. Cuong Vu did two sets at Milestones during the 2004 RIJF. There is a $5 suggested donation. For more information, go to the Bop Shop site.
